Awarded Black Belt in 1993 under Master Carlson Gracie.

1996 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World (Mundial) Champion.

Voted Most Technical Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitor in 1996 Mundial.

3x Brazilian National Champion.

2nd Abu Dhabi Submission Tournament 2000.

Co-Founder of the Brazilian Top Team.

Nicolae has an extensive background in BJJ and Judo. He recently crossed over into MMA with a successful pro debut at EdivteXC. Nicolae also teaches at the main academy at night where he puts his skills to good use. Below are some his accomplishments

Chris is an original student having risen thru the ranks. Chris received his Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu from Ricardo Liborio 4/22/08. Chris is an instructor for the kid’s classes at the Main Academy in Coconut Creek. Chris has started fighting professional and was signed by the WEC.

Ryan Thomas - Instructor - Teen Classes

Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in Physical Education and Social Science.

In June 2010, Ryan decided to take his training to the next level when he moved to Coconut Creek, Florida to train at American Top Team.  Today, Ryan’s record in MMA is 16-6. He holds the Courage Fighting Championship  welterweight title and the Colosseum Combat interim welterweight title. He  recently graduated with his bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 2009  and is currently signed with Bellator Fighting Championships.
